The Mahindra KUV100, including the K6 variant, initially saw strong demand with over 21,000 bookings in just a month after its launch. This led to a waiting period of up to three months, prompting Mahindra to increase production to meet the demand. I believe this initial success was a testament to the vehicles appeal and value proposition in the market. | 02/18/2016 |

The Mahindra KUV100 NXT, including the K6 variant, has been discontinued from the market. This decision comes as part of Mahindras strategy to focus on other models and comply with newer emission norms. The KUV100 NXT was known for its safety features, including dual front airbags and ABS with EBD, even on the base variants. I believe this move will allow Mahindra to concentrate on more popular and profitable models in their lineup.

Mahindra updated the KUV100 NXT to meet the BS6 emission norms, but this update came with some significant changes. The 5-seating layout and the base-spec K2 variant were discontinued, and the focus shifted to the K6+ and K8 variants. The K6+ variant, in particular, saw the addition of features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and auto start/stop function. I think these updates were necessary to keep the model competitive, but the loss of the base variant might affect its affordability.

The Mahindra KUV100 K6+ variant was praised for its additional features over the lower variants. It included a remote key, electrically-adjustable mirrors, and a driver information system, among others. The K6+ also came with a micro-hybrid system and speed-sensing auto-door locks, enhancing both efficiency and safety. I believe these features made the K6+ a good value-for-money option in its segment.

Mahindra launched the KUV100 NXT with a bold new look, featuring a redesigned seven-slot grille, larger alloy wheels, and redesigned tail lamps. The K6 variant benefited from these styling upgrades and also received new premium finishes inside, including new fabric upholstery and piano black detailing. I think the new design gave the KUV100 a fresh and more aggressive look, which could attract more buyers.
