Kia has introduced the new GTX trim for the Sonet, positioned between the HTX+ and GTX+ trims, priced at Rs 13.71 lakh ex-showroom. This variant comes with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, or a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic. The Sonet GTX features a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and a 4-way powered driver’s seat. I think this new trim offers a great balance of performance and features, making it an attractive option for buyers.

The Kia Sonet GTX trim has been enhanced with several new features, including 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, a tiger nose grille with dark metallic surrounds, and front and rear skid plates. Inside, it boasts all-black interiors with sporty white inserts, sporty alloy pedals, and black leatherette seats. The GTX trim also includes a 360-degree camera and a blind spot viewing monitor. I believe these additions significantly elevate the Sonets appeal in the subcompact SUV segment.

Kia India has revamped the variant lineup for the Sonet, introducing the GTX trim which includes advanced safety features like ADAS, although it is limited to the GTX+ and X Line variants. The Sonet GTX, however, gets a 360-degree camera and a blind spot monitor. This trim is available with either a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine. I think the absence of ADAS in the GTX trim might be a slight drawback, but overall its a solid upgrade.

The new Kia Sonet GTX trim is part of Kias strategy to offer customers the latest technology and best value for their money. According to Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, the introduction of GTX trims aims to provide customers with the thrill of driving a GT line while keeping them updated with the latest automotive innovations. I think this approach will help Kia maintain its competitive edge in the Indian market.

Kia has also introduced a new colour option, Aurora Black Pearl, for the Sonet GTX and other variants. This all-black glossy look is part of the X-Line avatar and adds a sleek, sporty appearance to the vehicle. Additionally, the Sonet GTX features dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster, along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I believe the new colour and tech upgrades will make the Sonet even more appealing to potential buyers.
