Hyundai has stopped producing the Hyundai Santro altogether, just four years after its revival in 2018. The decision is attributed to various factors, including the cars inability to meet new safety regulations and the overall downturn in the small car market. I believe the Santro had some great features, but the lack of dual airbags and other safety upgrades made it less competitive.

The Hyundai Santro and Grand i10 NIOS Corporate Editions have been discontinued as of January 2021. This decision marks the end of the limited edition variants of these models. The discontinuation is part of Hyundais strategy to streamline their product lineup. I think this move might help Hyundai focus on more popular models, but its a loss for those who liked the unique features of these corporate editions.

The Hyundai Santro saw a significant price hike in July 2019, with the base trim now starting at Rs. 4.15 lakh, an increase of Rs. 25,000 from the previous D-Lite trim. This change was part of a broader update that included the introduction of a new Era Executive trim. I think this price hike might have affected the cars affordability and appeal to budget-conscious buyers.

The Hyundai Santro Corporate Edition AMT was known for its smooth automatic transmission and refined 1.1-litre Epsilon engine. However, the engine, although more refined than its three-cylinder counterparts, was not future-proof and lacked the economies of scale needed for profitability. I think this was a significant factor in the cars eventual discontinuation.

The Hyundai Santro Corporate Edition AMT came with several premium features for its segment, including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and rear AC vents. These features made it stand out in terms of interior quality and comfort. I believe these features were a major selling point, but they werent enough to sustain long-term sales.
