Hyundai Alcazar Prestige (7-Seater) Updates

The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Prestige variant, available only as a 7-seater, is priced between Rs. 17 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh ex-showroom. This variant comes with features like a semi-digital driver’s display, dual-zone auto AC with rear vents, cooled glovebox, electric boot release, and manually adjustable driver’s seat. It also includes safety features such as six airbags, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist. I think the Prestige variant offers a great balance of comfort and safety at this price point.

The Hyundai Alcazar Prestige variant is powered by two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 160PS and 253Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine making 116PS and 250Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This ensures that buyers have a choice between petrol and diesel, catering to different driving preferences.

In terms of interior features, the Alcazar Prestige includes amenities like adjustable headrests for all seats, a sliding front centre armrest with storage space, and a front seatback tray with a cupholder. It also features ambient lighting, door scuff plates, and a sunglass holder, enhancing the overall comfort and convenience. I believe these features make the Prestige variant a compelling choice for family buyers.

The Alcazar Prestige boasts a refreshed exterior design with chrome finished outside door handles and a shark fin antenna, adding a touch of elegance. The interior is equipped with a panoramic sunroof for petrol engine-powered variants, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and wireless phone charging. These updates make the Prestige variant look and feel more premium.

Hyundai has emphasized the safety aspect in the Alcazar Prestige by including standard features like six airbags, rear disc brakes, and a tire pressure monitor. Additionally, it comes with convenience features such as all four power windows, day/night IRVM, and a boot lamp. This focus on safety and convenience is a significant selling point for this variant.

The Alcazar Prestige offers advanced comfort features such as sliding and reclining second-row seats and reclining third-row seats. It also includes a push-button start/stop, remote engine start, and rear window sunshade, making it a comfortable choice for long family trips. I think these features are particularly useful for Indian road conditions.

The Prestige variant of the Hyundai Alcazar supports connected car technology and comes with a standard multi-speaker audio system. It also features cruise control and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs with an auto-fold function, enhancing the driving experience. These tech features are a big plus for tech-savvy buyers.

Hyundai has introduced new color options for the Alcazar Prestige, including the Emerald Pearl color available in both gloss and matte finish. This, combined with the new alloy wheels and redesigned roof rails, gives the vehicle a fresh and appealing look. I believe the new colors will attract a lot of attention in the Indian market.

The Alcazar Prestige variant is part of Hyundais strategy to compete in the three-row SUV segment, directly challenging vehicles like the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV 700. With its updated features and design, Hyundai aims to capture a significant market share in this segment.

The pricing of the Alcazar Prestige places it in a competitive position within the Indian market. At Rs. 17 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh ex-showroom, it offers a blend of features, comfort, and safety that is hard to match at this price point. I think this pricing strategy will help Hyundai attract more buyers.
