It comes standard with a 3.7-liter I-5 engine that produces 239 horsepower and 241 pound-feet of torque, and a five-speed manual transmission. An optional four-speed automatic is also available. All Hummers come with four-wheel drive, two-speed transfer case, and front and rear locking differentials.
The H3 Alpha model is equipped with a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, and is backed by a four-speed automatic transmission. The Hummer H3 also features four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), dual front airbags, curtain first and second row overhead airbags, airbag occupancy sensor, four-wheel drive, hill start off assist traction control, and StabiliTrak stability control and OnStar all come standard. The fuel economy of the Hummer H3 is on the lower side of the spectrum, with the standard model achieving 14 mpg city/18 mpg highway, and the Alpha model achieving 13 mpg city/16 mpg highway.
