Latest Updates
Wednesday, 21 August 2024 11:13 AM Fiat has announced that the current Fiat Panda will no longer be sold in the UK, marking the end of a 44-year era. The model will be replaced by the Grande Panda in 2025, which will come with hybrid and all-electric powertrains. The Grande Panda will be larger and more expensive than its predecessor. Despite this, the Panda will continue to be sold in other European markets until at least 2027 under the name Fiat Pandina special series.
Wednesday, 21 August 2024 07:26 PM Fiat will launch a family of new Panda models, including a city car, a fastback, and a boxy SUV, each to be introduced annually until 2027. These models will be based on other Stellantis models to keep costs low. This strategy aims to revitalize the Panda brand with fresh designs and technologies.
Wednesday, 21 August 2024 04:28 PM The Fiat Panda has a quirky history, including a suggestion that the rear seat could be tilted to create a hammock or even used as a cot, though this idea was never implemented. This reflects the innovative and sometimes unconventional thinking behind the Pandas design.
Wednesday, 31 July 2024 07:33 AM Fiat has introduced the 2024 versions of the Panda and the new Pandina, featuring enhanced driver assistance systems, a 1.0 L mild hybrid engine, and updated interiors. The Panda and Pandina come equipped with autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and a fully digital instrument cluster. Prices start at €14,900 for the Panda and €17,900 for the Pandina. I think these updates make the Panda a more competitive option in the city car segment.
Friday, 05 July 2024 05:28 PM Fiat has simplified the Panda range for 2024, offering only two models: the Panda City and the Pandina. Both models come with advanced driver assistance systems, a digital dashboard, and new safety features. The starting price has increased to €15,900, but it includes many features previously available only in optional packs.
Friday, 05 July 2024 08:32 PM The Fiat Pandina stands out with its unique cross-look design, featuring specific bumpers, wheel arch trims, and roof rails. It also includes LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, and newly designed seats made from recycled Seaqual material. I think the Pandinas design gives it a distinctive edge in the market.
Saturday, 15 June 2024 04:38 PM Fiat has unveiled the new Grande Panda, which will be available with both hybrid and electric powertrains. The Grande Panda is built on the Stellantis Smart Car platform and features a robust and clearly structured design with Italian styling elements. It will be launched in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and is designed for global markets. I believe the Grande Pandas design is a great blend of modern and classic elements.
Friday, 14 June 2024 09:26 AM The Fiat Panda was almost discontinued due to a poor EuroNCAP crash test score in 2018, where it received zero stars. However, Fiat upgraded the active safety systems to meet legal requirements, and the model continued to sell well despite the initial setback. This resilience is a testament to the Pandas popularity.
Friday, 14 June 2024 10:13 PM Fiat had initially considered renaming the second-generation Panda to Gingo when it was launched in 2003, but the name was dropped due to a dispute with Renault over its similarity to the Twingo. The Panda name was eventually retained after some legal issues. I think retaining the Panda name was a wise decision given its brand recognition.
Friday, 14 June 2024 10:01 AM The original Fiat Panda was named to pay homage to the Roman goddess Empanda, patron of travelers, rather than the bear. However, the World Wildlife Fund objected to the name due to its logo featuring a panda, leading to a donation to the charity to resolve the issue.
