Friday, 13 January 2023 03:16 AM The arrest of Dilip Chhabria has come as a shock to many. Not only is he well-known for designing the first sports car in India, the DC Avanti, but also for his company DC Design, a car modification studio. DC Design has been in the business of customizing cars for many years and has gained a lot of popularity in the auto design industry. It is believed that the arrest of Chhabria is related to an alleged scam involving the sale of his DC Avanti cars. The details of the scam are still unclear, however, Mumbai Police is investigating the case. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the investigation will be and whether the allegations are true.
Friday, 13 January 2023 03:18 AM DC Avanti was an ambitious project by its creator Dilip Chhabria, unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo. Despite its initial attention, the car failed to perform in the sales department, and was eventually discontinued in 2016 due to not complying with stricter automotive safety regulations. Sadly, the car failed to include basic safety features like airbags. Asahi Kasei, a 100-year-old company, is now introducing a new concept car, the AKXY2, to showcase a wide array of their materials and technologies. The car is expected to be much safer than the DC Avanti, and will hopefully make a lasting impression in the automotive world.
Thursday, 31 December 2020 06:15 PM DC Design founder, Dilip Chhabria, was arrested in a cheating and forgery case, which has cast a shadow over the DC Avanti. This scandal has significant implications for the company and the future of the Avanti. I believe this incident will severely impact the trust and credibility of DC Design in the Indian market.
Sunday, 15 March 2020 02:37 PM The DC Avanti failed to meet the stringent crash test norms set by MoRTH, leading to its discontinuation. This failure, combined with the companys legal issues, spelled the end for the Avanti in the Indian market. I believe stricter safety regulations are crucial, but its unfortunate that the Avanti couldnt comply and continue its production.
Monday, 14 December 2015 08:09 AM The DC Avanti 310 Special Edition was revealed, boasting 310 bhp and featuring a 6-speed automated manual transmission with paddle shifters. This limited edition, with only 31 units planned, was aimed at those seeking more power from the Avanti. I think this special edition was a great move to attract enthusiasts, but its limited production might have restricted its appeal.
Sunday, 05 April 2015 12:11 AM Deliveries of the DC Avanti commenced on April 16, 2015, marking a significant milestone for India’s first indigenous sports car. Priced at Rs 35 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Avanti generated considerable excitement among car enthusiasts. I believe the Avantis launch was a bold step for the Indian automotive industry, even if it faced several challenges later on.
Tuesday, 07 February 2012 12:45 AM The DC Avanti was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi, showcasing its sleek design and powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This car was a milestone in Indian automotive history, being the first sports car designed and manufactured in India. I think the Avantis design and performance were impressive, but it needed more refinement to compete globally.
