Citroen India has launched the updated Aircross, now simply called the Aircross SUV, with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 8.49 lakh. The top-spec Max variant, which includes features like automatic climate control, LED projector headlamps, and six airbags, is priced at Rs. 13.99 lakh. Deliveries are set to begin on October 8, 2024. I believe this update makes the Aircross a more competitive option in the mid-size SUV segment.

The updated Citroen Aircross SUV comes with two engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. The turbo petrol engine is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Aircross also features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I think these updates significantly enhance the vehicles appeal and functionality.

Citroen has added several new features to the Aircross SUV, including repositioned rear power window switches, electrically folding wing mirrors, and a new grab handle on the passenger side. The interior now includes a soft-touch instrument panel, and safety features like six airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors are now standard. I believe these additions make the Aircross a more comfortable and safe choice for buyers.

The vehicle also comes with a rear parking camera with sensors and hill-start assist, enhancing its practicality and safety. I think the flexibility in seating options is a big plus for families or those needing extra space.

Citroen India has dropped the C3 prefix from the C3 Aircross, giving it a distinct identity within their lineup. This move, along with the new features and engine options, positions the Aircross more competitively against rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. I believe this rebranding and update will help Citroen attract more buyers in the Indian market.
