Chevrolet India announced the discontinuation of the Chevrolet Sail, including the Sail LT ABS (Petrol), as part of their decision to stop selling cars in the Indian market by December 31, 2017. The company will utilize its Indian facilities for export markets only. The Sail LT ABS (Petrol) was one of the top variants, featuring a 1.2-liter SMARTECH petrol engine and several safety features like ABS and a drivers airbag. I believe this move marked the end of an era for Chevrolet in India, but it was necessary given the market dynamics.

In May 2017, Chevrolet India offered significant discounts on the Chevrolet Sail series, including the Sail LT ABS (Petrol), with benefits up to Rs. 55,000. This was an effort to clear inventory before their exit from the Indian market. The Sail LT ABS (Petrol) was priced around Rs. 7.17 lakh and came with features like power steering, air conditioner, and anti-lock braking system. I think these discounts were a great opportunity for buyers looking for a reliable car at a lower price.

The Chevrolet Sail LT ABS (Petrol) was launched as part of the updated Sail series in 2014, featuring a locally developed 1.2-liter SMARTECH petrol engine. This engine produced 82 bhp of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 108.5 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The car also included advanced safety features such as ABS and a drivers airbag. I believe the update made the Sail a more competitive option in the subcompact car segment.

The Chevrolet Sail LT ABS (Petrol) was praised for its spacious interior and comfortable ride, thanks to its MacPherson strut and Twist Beam suspensions. The car had a boot space of 248 liters and a seating capacity for five passengers. It also featured a 42-liter fuel tank and complied with BS-IV emission norms. I think the combination of space and comfort made it a solid choice for family buyers.

When the Chevrolet Sail LT ABS (Petrol) was introduced, it was noted for its contemporary design and high-performance capabilities. The car came with a manual transmission and a top speed of 155 kmph. It also included features like power windows, vanity mirror, and an accessory power outlet. I believe the design and feature set made it an attractive option in the market at that time.
