General information and overview

I rate the 2025 BMW 3 Series LWB 330Li M Sport as India's ideal luxury sedan for families and enthusiasts, measuring 4819mm long with a 2961mm wheelbase for unmatched rear space—perfect for three adults on airport runs or outstation trips. Power comes from a punchy 258hp/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mated to an eight-speed auto and RWD, hitting 100kmph in 6.2 seconds while Adaptive M suspension tames bad roads in Comfort mode yet sharpens in Sport. Inside, dual curved screens (12.3+14.9-inch) run iDrive 8.5 seamlessly, backed by 16-speaker Harman Kardon, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and Vernasca leather seats. Safety shines with six airbags, Level 2 ADAS (lane assist, driver attention), DSC, and reversing assist. M Sport bits like glossy black diffuser and sport steering elevate style without excess. Built in India for quick service, it's reliable for 1.5 lakh km with proper maintenance. Buy it for the rear-seat chauffeur appeal plus your own grin-inducing drives—nothing matches this poise in the segment.

The 2025 BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase, exclusive to India in 330Li M Sport petrol (258hp, 400Nm 2.0L turbo) and diesel (190hp, 400Nm) guises, measures 4819mm long with a 2961mm wheelbase for exceptional rear legroom, low-slung stance, and M Sport styling featuring adaptive LED headlamps, satin aluminium trims, and gloss black diffuser. Inside, Vernasca leather seats with thigh extension, panoramic sunroof, tri-zone AC, Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite trim, flat-bottom steering, and ambient lighting create a premium haven, powered by iDrive 8's 14.9-inch curved screen and 12.3-inch cluster for intuitive tech including Digital Key Plus and reversing assist. Rear-wheel drive with 8-speed auto ensures 6.2s (petrol) or 7.6s (diesel) 0-100kmph sprints, balanced by supple suspension for plush rides over Indian bumps yet agile handling. Safety shines with comprehensive ADAS, making it a versatile luxury sedan at Rs 62 lakh ex-showroom that excels in comfort, performance, and chauffeur appeal while letting me revel in its fun-to-drive ethos—perfect for family or executive use.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

I find the 2025 BMW 3 Series LWB in its 330Li M Sport guise to be the ultimate executive sedan for India, blending rear-seat luxury with driver thrills that outshine rivals like the Mercedes C-Class or Audi A4. Its stretched 2961mm wheelbase delivers exceptional legroom for chauffeur-driven comfort on long highway runs from Mumbai to Pune, while the 258hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol surges to 100kmph in 6.2 seconds, making overtakes effortless even fully loaded. I love how the updated suspension soaks up pothole-riddled Indian roads without compromising the signature BMW handling—it's planted at high speeds and composed over undulations, with modes from Comfort for family duties to Sport for spirited drives. The cabin dazzles with curved dual screens, Harman Kardon audio, panoramic sunroof, and new Level 2 ADAS like lane change assist, all wrapped in premium Vernasca leather. Safety is robust with six airbags and dynamic stability control. At Rs 62.60 lakh ex-showroom, it justifies the premium over the previous model with subtle refinements like adaptive LEDs and Park Assist Plus. If you crave a car that's plush for passengers yet rewarding to pilot yourself, this is your buy—it's the segment benchmark for balancing indulgence and involvement.

I find the 2025 BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase, particularly the 330Li M Sport petrol variant made for India, to be an exhilarating choice that masterfully blends rear-seat luxury with driver's car thrills, making it ideal for buyers seeking both chauffeur-driven comfort and personal engagement on Indian roads. With its stretched 2961mm wheelbase offering generous legroom and supportive seating for long journeys, the pliant suspension soaks up potholes effortlessly while maintaining sharp handling that rewards spirited drives, powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine delivering 258hp and 400Nm for a brisk 0-100kmph in 6.2 seconds via rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic. The updated iDrive 8 with a 14.9-inch curved display and 12.3-inch cluster feels modern, complemented by adaptive LEDs, panoramic sunroof, tri-zone climate control, and ADAS like Park Assistant Plus, though the touchscreen can feel cluttered at times. In M Sport guise, it exudes premium presence in colours like Arctic Race Blue, with Vernasca leather interiors elevating the cabin. For Indian conditions, its supple ride trumps rivals like the C-Class in comfort without sacrificing fun, though a diesel option at similar pricing adds efficiency appeal. I recommend it wholeheartedly for those prioritizing dynamic excellence and space in a luxury sedan under Rs 70 lakh, as it delivers unmatched value in performance and rear-seat refinement.

Recent news and announcements

BMWs Vision Neue Klasse concept previews the next-generation all-electric 3 Series, which is expected to introduce a new electric platform. This concept hints at a significant change from the current model and will underpin multiple future EVs. While not directly related to the 2025 model, it shows BMWs future direction. I believe this is an exciting development for BMWs electric future.

The 2025 BMW 3 Series is set to launch worldwide, with production for the US market starting in August 2024. This update includes new design details for the interior and exterior, an updated BMW iDrive 8.5 with QuickSelect, and enhanced chassis tuning for better balance between sportiness and comfort. The new models will also feature BMW Operating System 8.5 and innovative digital services like Augmented View navigation. I think these updates will make the 3 Series even more appealing to those who value both performance and luxury.

The 2025 BMW 3 Series has seen significant interior updates, including a newly designed steering wheel and dashboard, and sophisticated equipment features. The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch gauge display and a 14.9-inch infotainment display, enhancing the premium modernity of the interior. I think these interior changes will make the driving experience even more enjoyable.
May 28, 2024
BMW has emphasized the importance of driver-assistance features in the 2025 3 Series, although many of these features are optional. The adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance are available at an additional cost. Despite this, the 3 Series remains a top choice for those prioritizing handling and luxury. I believe the optional features add value but should be more inclusive.
May 28, 2024
BMW has discontinued the 330e plug-in hybrid model for the 2025 3 Series, leaving only the 330i and M340i models. The new lineup includes a touch more power, new exterior looks, and a slightly revised interior. This move simplifies the model range while maintaining the 3 Series reputation for polished handling and modern interior design. I believe this simplification will help focus on the core strengths of the 3 Series.

Price

Pricing details and changes

I see the 2025 BMW 3 Series 330Li M Sport priced at Rs 62.60 lakh ex-showroom pan-India, a Rs 2 lakh hike from the MY24 model, reflecting added tech like iDrive 8.5 and ADAS without major redesigns. On-road prices vary by city: in Delhi, expect around Rs 71-73 lakh including 13% road tax, insurance (about Rs 2.2 lakh for comprehensive), fastag, and hypothecation charges; Mumbai pushes it to Rs 74-76 lakh with 11-12% tax but higher registration fees; Bengaluru hovers at Rs 72-74 lakh. These figures make it competitively placed against the C-Class, which starts similarly but feels less engaging. As someone who's tracked luxury sedan pricing, this ex-showroom tag packs immense value in a fully-loaded single variant—no skimping on M Sport aero, 19-inch wheels, or three-zone AC. Factor in BMW's three-year service package and five-year warranty roadside assistance, keeping ownership costs predictable at 8-10% of purchase price annually. For buyers financing via SBICAPS at 9% interest, EMIs start at Rs 1.1 lakh over 60 months with 20% down. It's a smart investment if you prioritize rear luxury and performance over outright opulence, holding strong resale in India's premium market.

In India, the 2025 BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase 330Li M Sport petrol starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 62.60 lakh, with the newly launched diesel variant priced identically at Rs 62 lakh ex-showroom, reflecting BMW's strategy to offer compelling entry into luxury without aggressive discounts. On-road prices vary by city due to RTO, insurance, and taxes—expect around Rs 70-72 lakh in Delhi or Mumbai, factoring in 12-15% road tax, comprehensive insurance (Rs 2-3 lakh annually), and fastag fees, potentially pushing totals to Rs 74 lakh with optional extended 10-year warranty or accessories like premium paints. I view this pricing as shrewdly positioned against the Mercedes C-Class or Audi A4, delivering superior rear space and BMW's signature driving purity at a competitive tag, especially with GST benefits valid till December 2025 bringing it down to Rs 60.45 lakh ex-showroom in promotions. The diesel's efficiency edge justifies parity pricing for cost-conscious buyers, while standard M Sport kit including adaptive headlights and glossy black diffuser adds perceived value, making ownership costs manageable at Rs 1.5-2 lakh yearly for services if maintained at BMW centres. For discerning buyers, this represents strong bang-for-buck in the segment, urging quick action on limited-stock launches.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

I get real-world figures of 10-12kmpl in city traffic like Delhi jams and 15-18kmpl on highways for the 330Li's 2.0 turbo-petrol, with a 59-litre tank offering 800-1000km range. Running costs suit enthusiasts at Rs 120-140 per km on premium fuel (Rs 105/litre), but wait for the diesel later this year if mileage trumps thrill—it's cheaper to run long-term without compromising the premium drive.
December 15, 2025
I note the petrol 330Li M Sport achieves 14-16kmpl on highways and 10-12kmpl in city traffic, while the diesel variant hits 18-20kmpl highway and 14-16kmpl city, keeping running costs low at Rs 8-10 per km on diesel versus Rs 12-14 on petrol with current fuel prices. Opt for diesel if mileage drives your decision, as it slashes long-term expenses significantly for India's mixed roads.

As the company’s best-selling model, it certainly attracts the attention of customers. The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series, first shown to the world in late 2011, was brought to the market in 2012, and the exterior is strongly influenced by the F10 5 Series.

As the company’s best-selling model, it certainly attracts the attention of customers. The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series, first shown to the world in late 2011, was brought to the market in 2012, and the exterior is strongly influenced by the F10 5 Series.

Exterior

The new BMW 3 series shows improvements in every department, including exterior and interior design. Without straying too far from the classic form, BMW have added some stylish touches, adding musculature to an already bold design. The car now features an expansive kidney-shaped grille and broader headlights. The addition of two striking lines down the car’s flanks gives it a sharp, sporty look, and the enlarged bonnet is more masculine, even aggressive. The car’s rear retains the classic BMW shape, but its expanded boot-lid is clearly inspired by the 5 series. The 3 series has been lengthened by almost 100mm, with a wider wheelbase and wider front and rear tracks.

Interior

Inside the 3 series, a number of small modifications update the design for increased comfort and style. The dashboard has been tilted toward the driver, and enhanced with a range of textures that create a 3D layered appearance. In the 328i, the ‘Sport’ edge now features a bold scarlet stripe running the full length of the front. Above the center console is the widescreen infotainment screen. The newly added iDrive system has been updated.

Comfort and Convenience

The addition of a ‘Drive Performance Control’ option enables a quick shift from Sport to Comfort. The increased size of the wheelbases provides greater legroom at the rear, and the seats have been enhanced to offer greater leg support and a more ergonomic back-rest. Previous incarnations of the 3 Series have suffered from a lack of foot room, but the new design corrects this issue. The front seats are wide, comfortable and offer plenty of shoulder support.

Dashboard and Storage

The slick, stylish, well laid out dashboard takes its cue from the highly successful 5 Series. All of its materials feel and look classy and durable, with a choice of wood or metallic trim inserts. There is ample storage: deep pockets in the doors, an expansive glove box and numerous cup holders, plus the wide 480-liter loading bay, which is on a level with the Audi A4.

Music System

The 3 Series comes equipped with a sophisticated infotainment system, including connected apps for your iPhone, email and text message dictation, Bluetooth Office, full internet access with live updates and an optional Harman Kardon Sound System offering total 3D sound.

Engine and Gearbox

New BMW 3-series is available in both petrol and diesel. The petrol variant is powered by a 1997cc Twinpower Turbo engine; it generates maximum power of 245 bhp at 5000 rpm with maximum torque of 350 nm at 1250 rpm. The diesel variant is powered by a 1995cc Twinpower Turbo engine; it generates maximum power of 181 bhp at 4000 rpm with maximum torque of 380 nm at 1750 rpm. Both the engines are mated to eight-speed automatic transmission.

Acceleration and Performance (0-100 kmph plus Top Speed)

The performance of the 3 series is superb. The car jumps from 0-100kph in a sizzling 6.1 seconds, with 180kph in 22.1 seconds, and a maximum speed of 250kph. Of the available options, most drivers will appreciate the diesel engines most. The 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine of the 320d is speedy and highly flexible, while the equivalent engine in the 328i is responsive but can feel strained. The 335i’s 3.0-turbocharged engine revs beautifully and is very fast and flexible. On the whole, the engines are smooth revving, although when cold the 4-cylinder diesel engines produce considerable noise.

Mileage

Thanks to the new lightweight, 8-speed gearbox in the 3 series, in addition to the smart Eco Pro mode and auto stop-start system help to make it an unbeatably efficient vehicle in its class. The 320d gives 11.1 kmpl in the city and 15.5 kmpl, and the 328i gives 7.5 kmpl in the city and 12.5 kmpl on highways. The running costs of the 320d’s diesel engine is impressive given the power output, particularly if you opt for the EfficientDynamics options, which doesn’t significantly impact performance.

Safety Features

As standard, the 3 Series includes 6 airbags. The Dynamic Stability Control includes ABS, Dynamic Brake Control, Dynamic Stability Control and Dynamic Traction Control. Buyers can choose the Active Security Package, which includes lane departure and lane change warnings.

Suspension and Braking

The 3 series offers capable suspension that absorbs most shocks and provides an exceptionally smooth and comfortable ride. In the diesel, the underlying firmness of the car’s suspension means that it can get quite loud. The 328i in particular is seamless on a variety of road surfaces.

Ride and Handling

The new 3 series handles beautifully and offers a top-notch ride. Drivers who choose the standard suspension options and setup may find themselves somewhat disappointed with the results. At lower speeds, the 3 Series feel unsettled: there’s an excessive degree of body rolling around corners, and some vertical movement when braking hard. However, if you opt for the cars’ adaptive dampers as an optional extra, in that case the 3 Series is one of the best rides in its class.

Shades Available

New BMW 3-Series is available in ten shades: Black Sapphire, Havana, Melbourne Red, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue, Orion Silver, Mineral White, Sparkling Bronze, Mineral Grey and Liquid Blue.

Accessories

The BMW 3 Series has a range of accessories available: rear spoilers, star spokes, mud flaps, wheel bolt locks, snow chains and winter wheel and tyre sets, decorative wheel trims, handbrake grips, key holders and lever knobs.

Reasons to Buy and Value for Money

The 3 Series is a versatile, high-performance vehicle with capable suspension, smooth handling, exceptional acceleration and plenty of intuitive features to suit every driver. The vehicle’s low running costs and high performance mean that it represents excellent value for money.

Verdict

The brand-new 3 Series is an excellent all-rounder vehicle: spacious inside yet sleek and compact outside, offering excellent performance at a low running cost, and a truly enjoyable ride.
