Audi has announced the end of the Audi e-tron model line, with 2023 being the last year of production. The model will be replaced by the Audi Q8 e-tron, which was launched on November 9, 2022. This transition is part of Audis strategy to update and expand its electric vehicle lineup. I think this move is a significant step towards Audis commitment to electric mobility and improving vehicle performance.

In the 2022 model year, the Audi e-tron saw several updates, including a new paint color called Chronos Grey, the replacement of Alcantara with Dinamica, and the introduction of the Black optics plus package. Additionally, support for Wireless Android Auto was added, and a shortcut to the charging screen was included in the MMI system. I believe these updates enhance both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the vehicle.

For the 2021 model year, the Audi e-tron received significant upgrades, including the introduction of the e-tron 60 with three motors and the upgrade to the MIB 3 infotainment system. The vehicle also started offering heated steering wheels with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and replaced USB A ports with USB C ports. I think these changes make the e-tron more appealing and technologically advanced.

In 2020, Audi made notable changes to the e-tron, including the removal of the Lidar radar and the introduction of the e-tron 50 with a smaller battery. The Sportback version was also made available from week 2 of 2020. Additionally, an update increased the available battery capacity from 83.6 kWh to 86.5 kWh. I believe these updates improved the efficiency and versatility of the e-tron.

The production of the Audi e-tron started in week 36 of 2018 at the Audi Brussels Plant. The 2019 model featured a unique VIN number with a K as the 10th digit. This marked the beginning of Audis journey into full-electric vehicles, combining luxury and electric all-wheel drive. I think this was a bold and forward-thinking move by Audi.
