The engine is powerful and responsive, but it will only give you its best if you feather the throttle and use the clutch properly. I had to learn this quickly when I first took the Ninja out on a Friday morning. There was a lot of traffic on the road and I wanted to get the most out of the bike. I quickly discovered that the engine responds best when the RPMs are above 8500 and I was able to reach the redline of 10,000 RPM in the 5th gear before I was out of space to accelerate.
