The Honda CB1000 Hornet has been officially revealed, featuring an engine derived from the CBR1000RR Fireblade and a new chassis. This bike is aimed at more aggressive riding and comes in two variants: the standard CB1000 Hornet and the more performance-oriented CB1000 Hornet SP. The SP version boasts 155 horsepower and 79 pound-feet of torque, along with higher-spec Ohlins and Brembo components. I think this is a significant step for Honda in the liter-class naked bike segment, offering a powerful and feature-rich option.

Honda has unveiled its 2024 European lineup, including the new CB1000 Hornet, which is set to join the Hornet family. The bike features aggressive styling, a new twin spar frame, and advanced electronics such as throttle-by-wire and multiple riding modes. The CB1000 Hornet also includes a 5-inch TFT color display and Honda RoadSync connectivity. I believe this bike will attract younger, sportier riders looking for a powerful and tech-savvy naked bike.

The CB1000 Hornet has been confirmed for production, with type-approval documents filed in Germany. This bike is expected to follow a similar launch strategy as its smaller sibling, the CB750 Hornet, starting in Europe before expanding globally. The CB1000 Hornet and its SP variant are anticipated to offer competitive performance with 150 and 155 horsepower, respectively. I think this move by Honda could revitalize their presence in the liter-class naked bike market.

The new CB1000 Hornet features updated LED projector-style headlights and overhauled Showa suspension, including the SFF-BP fork. The bike also includes a new electronics package with throttle-by-wire, three ride modes, and torque control. The design has been updated from the older R model, giving it a fresh and aggressive look. I believe these updates make the CB1000 Hornet a strong contender in its class.

Hondas CB1000 Hornet is expected to be priced competitively, with the base model in the UK priced at £8,999, which is less than $12,000 USD. This pricing strategy could make the bike more accessible to a wider range of riders, especially compared to other European brands. I think this pricing will be a key factor in its market success.
