Hero HX250R is expected to launch with the same design as it was recently seen at the Auto Expo 2016 with no changes to the design displayed 2 years ago. The 250 cc engine on the HX250R is good for 31 BHP and its lightweight 139 kg of body makes it sure than it sprints better than Honda CBR250R, R15 and maybe 200 Duke. The things are different with the Ninja as it is a 2-cylinder 300 cc motorcycle with loads of more power than the the HX250R. It even costs more than double the expected price of INR 1,50,000 for the HX250R. It would carry the twin headlight design and support yellow halogen bulbs in both the lights.

You should move to the Honda CBR250R as Hero has given no final date for the launch of its HX250R in India. Even going for Honda would not be very profitable this time as the new 2015 Honda CBR250R is expected to be launched very soon, with twin headlight front and a more refined design from Honda. The price difference would be very minor and the latest variant would have many plus points over the existing machine.

It was due for launch in march 2015. It's going under extensive road test now. The engine is a whole new one, probably imported from EBR so is introduction of sixth gear. Bike has also received some negative reviews on the styling part, specially headlamp positioning. So expect a slightly different model than the proto type one. If all problems are solved hero will launch this on September 2015.
