Ducati Monster 796 S2R is a discontinued model in the Ducati India lineup. The motorcycle came with 803 cc, twin cylinder engine from the Scrambler series, producing 85.80 BHP at 8250 rpm and 78 Nm at 6250 rpm. It was last retailed for INR 8,09,000. Ducati is preparing a new Monster 797 model that is again going to be based on the same engine but would carry the new design bits from the 2017 Monster series. Monster 796 S2R weighs just 188 kg and rivaled Kawasaki Z800 and Benelli TNT899. It carries a service interval of 12000 km and was Euro3 compliant.NADucati Monster 821 Dark is currently the most affordable model in the entire Monster lineup of the Italian superbike maker. It is powered by a 821cc, L-Twin engine producing 110.46 BHP at 9250 rpm and 89.4 Nm at 7750 rpm. The motorcycle comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims a service interval of 15000 kilometers/12 months. It comes with 320 mm dual front disc brakes for efficient braking while its 43 mm USD forks helps in razor sharp handling of this 205.5 kg Monster 821. It uses Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres for enhanced traction and rivals Kawasaki Z800 and Benelli TNT 899 in the Indian market.
