Bajaj Auto has discontinued the production of the Bajaj V15 in the Indian market due to the mandatory implementation of ABS, which the 150 cc V15 does not comply with. This decision marks the end of an era for a bike that was once popular for its unique history, being made from the metal of Indias first aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. I believe this move is a necessary step towards ensuring safety standards, but its sad to see such an iconic bike go.

The 2019 Bajaj V15 was launched with several updates, including a hike in power output, new graphics, and a revised gear shift pattern. This update, badged as Power Up, saw the bike priced at Rs. 67,187 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The enhancements were well-received, but ultimately couldnt save the bike from discontinuation. I think these updates were a great effort to keep the bike relevant, but sometimes its just not enough.

Bajaj V15 was launched in 2016 and quickly gained attention for being made from the metal of INS Vikrant, Indias first aircraft carrier. The bike won several awards, including the CNB Viewers Choice Two Wheeler of the Year 2017. Its unique story and powerful engine made it a favorite among many. I think the V15s story was one of its strongest selling points, making it more than just another bike.

Bajaj V15 sales crossed the 1.6 lakh mark in India, a significant milestone for the bike. To celebrate this, Bajaj introduced a new Ocean Blue color option. This achievement highlighted the bikes popularity in the commuter segment. I believe this sales figure is a testament to the bikes appeal and the trust consumers had in it.
