What are India’s diverse climate conditions like for the Tata Punch EV?
Climate changes drastically throughout India, from hot summers across the north to humid air in many coastal areas, or cold winters in some places. Extreme temperatures significantly impact electric vehicle performance (range, and battery health). Owners and prospective owners talk about how the Tata Punch EV manages to deal with these various conditions. Some users claim that the car suffers noticeable range drops in peak summer heat, while others praise the car's climate control system for keeping them comfortable, without too heavily draining the battery. The long term impact of extreme weather on battery life and Tata's thermal management system is also questioned. The discussion also encompasses how well the Punch EV fares on water logged roads in the monsoons, given the ground clearance and where the battery pack is placed.
It appears that the thermal management system works well. I’ve not seen any unusual battery degradation even after fast charging in hot weather.
