Is Tata Tiago’s infotainment system really user friendly or just flashy?
A touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is seen on the new Tata Tiago. On paper, these features sound impressive, but there is a lot of debate as to how usable they are in real life. Those who recommend the system say it brings premium features to a budget car, and those who don’t complain of lagged performance, confusing interfaces, or poor connectivity. It has led to discussion of whether car manufacturers should be making entry level cars with simple, reliable systems, or pushing for more advanced features on them. The debate tends to revolve around tech features versus driver distraction, and whether complex electronics will hold up long term in budget cars. As smartphones become the lifeline of our lives, the quality of a car's infotainment system is becoming more and more important for buyers, and therefore this is a hot topic for Tiago owners and potential customers.
I guess I'm just not that impressed with it, honestly, I think it's more flash than function. I have the touchscreen laggy and freezing up. Most of the time I just used a phone mount. Instead of crammed features, Tata should have concentrated on making it more reliable.
