These models will get subtle cosmetic changes and feature upgrades to keep them fresh until the next generation models are launched. I think these updates will help maintain customer interest.

Friday, 16 August 2019 11:39 PM Volkswagen India has confirmed that they are considering the new-generation Polo for the Indian market, although it will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform and will come with some changes. The new 1-litre, three-cylinder MPI petrol engine will replace the 1.2-litre engine, offering better fuel efficiency of 18.78 kmpl compared to the older 16.47 kmpl. I think this move will make the Polo more competitive in the Indian market.

Friday, 16 August 2019 09:11 AM Volkswagen India discontinued the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine in the Polo hatchback, replacing it with a more fuel-efficient 1-litre, three-cylinder MPI engine. The new engine offers the same horsepower but better fuel efficiency. Prices for the new 1-litre Polo will start at Rs 5.41 lakh (ex-showroom). I think this change will attract more budget-conscious buyers.

The car will be homologated in the summer of 2018 and will make its competitive debut in the second half of 2018. This is a great move for Volkswagens motorsport ambitions.
