Yamaha to Launch FZ250 in India on January 15?
The motorcycle is expected to carry the same engine as Brazilian spec FZ 250, producing a max of 20.7 PS and 20.4 Nm of torque. It will actually save a lot of money on R&D as the engine is BS4 compliant and uses oil cooling along with fuel injection. But the engine is under-powered in comparison to other bikes in this segment in India, so Yamaha might have plans to tune the engine for better power and torque figures for India. The comfortable seats are most probably the same as those used on FZ Fi while the motorcycle will also use cost effective components like conventional front forks and non ABS disc brakes. Yamaha FZ 250 uses a different tyre hugger than all other Yamaha models. The headlight is even unique and uses LED's for the lighting purposes. The fuel tank is even more muscular, carrying impressive extensions and signature FZ design. The alloy wheels are also new while the exhaust hints at a relative but catchy design than the existing unit on the FZ series. Yamaha may price the same for around INR 1.5 lakh.
