Yamaha India has issued a recall for 1874 units of YZF-R3, including domestic and export market. The brand explains that these bikes carry a manufacturing date between July 2015 to May 2018. The brand is coordinating with dealers to cross-check records and contact all buyers affected by the recall in India. The problem is related to radiator hose and spring torsion defect.

The possible check and replacement of parts, if required, will be done free of cost. Yamaha has recalled the same motorcycle for the third time in India. As no owner has complained about both these parts, it was good on Yamaha’s side to clear the problem before anything goes wrong. The number of units include both the ABS and non-ABS version of the motorcycle.

Will Yamaha launch the ABS version of YZF-R3 in India?
2022-12-29 06:01:13 AM
Yamaha India recently denied the fact that the prices for the R3 will be revised due to localisation. They have no scope on this fact and this simply means they are not even interested in adding the ABS to the motorcycle. If by chance an R3 with ABS is launched in the country, it will make it cost nearly INR 30,000-40,000 more due to the CKD route. The motorcycle currently has no chances of receiving an update and you can consider it's rival, the KTM RC390 is ABS and safety is your first preference.
