Ahead of its much-anticipated launch, some Maruti Suzuki dealerships have started unofficially accepting bookings for the new-generation Swift. Expected to hit the market in the first half of May, the 2024 Swift promises a host of upgrades, including a fresh design, modern interiors, and enhanced features.

Design and Exterior Updates

The new Swift sports a sharper, more aggressive look than its predecessor. Key highlights include redesigned headlights with updated Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), a revamped grille, and sportier alloy wheels. The rear door handles have moved from the C-pillar to a more conventional position, enhancing accessibility and aesthetics. Additional exterior changes include inverted C-shaped LED DRLs and black inserts on the rear bumper contributing to its dynamic appearance.

Interior and Feature Enhancements

Inside, the Swift will debut a completely new dashboard layout, drawing inspiration from Maruti's newer models like the Fronx and Baleno. Among the notable additions are a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, a head-up display, connected car technology, automatic climate control, and wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood, the 2024 Swift is likely to be powered by a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. Upon launch, the Swift will compete against popular models like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Tiago, Renault Triber, and Tata Punch.
