The Toyota Innova Hycross and Innova Crysta have captured considerable attention in the automotive market, but acquiring one has become synonymous with enduring extensive waiting periods. Regrettably, the waiting time for the Hycross persists, with reports indicating delays exceeding a year in certain regions. Conversely, there's a glimmer of hope for prospective buyers eyeing the diesel variant of the Innova Crysta, as the waiting period has shown signs of contraction.
Innova Hycross Hybrid
The Innova Hycross offers a hybrid configuration across several trims, including VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O). Unfortunately, the highest-end trims, ZX and ZX(O), ceased accepting orders last year and haven't resumed booking activities. Consequently, the waiting period for the remaining VX and VX(O) trims has ballooned to approximately 12-13 months in select areas, marking a notable increase from the 9-10 month waiting period reported towards the end of the previous year. However, for those inclined towards the petrol iteration of the Hycross, the waiting period has remained relatively stable, hovering around 5-6 months on average, mirroring figures from late last year.
Innova Hycross Petrol
The petrol variant of the Hycross, available in G and GX trims, continues to exhibit a comparatively shorter waiting period, maintaining an average duration of about 5-6 months. This figure has remained consistent since late last year, providing some relief to potential buyers amidst the overall extended waiting period for Hycross models. Notably, the Innova Hycross petrol models come equipped with either a 172hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 184hp, 2.0-litre strong hybrid powertrain, both exclusively paired with automatic transmissions – a CVT gearbox for the petrol engine and an e-Drive transmission for the strong hybrid.
Toyota Innova Crysta Waiting Period
In contrast, the Innova Crysta exclusively offers a diesel engine option, available across four distinct trims. Encouragingly, there has been a marginal reduction in the waiting period for this model, currently averaging around seven months, down from the nine-month duration observed after the previous year. However, the journey to this improvement was marred by a setback in January when Toyota encountered issues with the certification testing of the diesel engine's horsepower, leading to a temporary suspension in the dispatch of Innova Crysta vehicles. Nonetheless, following the resolution of these concerns, Toyota resumed dispatching these vehicles earlier this month.
In essence, while the waiting period for the Toyota Innova Hycross remains formidable, particularly for its hybrid variants, there's a modest silver lining in the form of reduced waiting times for the diesel-powered Innova Crysta. Prospective buyers are advised to consider these factors judiciously as they navigate their purchasing decisions within the current automotive landscape.
