Toyota C-HR India Launch Possible; To Rival Hyundai Creta & Kia Seltos

According to recent rumours, the Toyota C-HR is the next SUV that is expected to grace the Indian markets. The brand is currently considering the launch of the compact SUV in India as the SUV market has been flourishing tenfold when compared to the compact sedan segment. At present, Toyota India doesn’t feature any compact SUV for the Indian audience under its badging except for the Fortuner which is a full-size premium SUV, not affordable to a larger customer base. Even though the brand has decided to introduce the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the Indian markets, it will just cater to the needs of customers looking for an entry-level SUV only. The brand is expected to fill the gap between the Fortuner and the Toyota-badged Vitara Brezza with the all-new C-HR compact SUV that will attract as many customers thus leading to better sales. If or when launched in India, one can expect the C-HR to get a starting price tag of around INR 15 lakh and equipped with a host of premium features that will make it compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Kia Seltos and more. The probability of the launch of the Toyota C-HR has been shared in the context of witnessing the SUV being tested on the Indian roads many times in the past few months. The crossover styling with a sporty design language is capable of attracting a larger chunk of the audience in the Indian markets while the user-friendly features that have been imparted to the C-SUV is a plus. The Toyota C-HR that is currently available in the international markets like the United States, has been equipped with LED headlight set up while the sloping roofline adds to its unique profile further. The cabin has been shod with a five-seat set up with plenty of legroom while featuring dual-zone climate control as standard. The brand has equipped the SUV with power-adjustable heated driver seat while the safety quirks add to its USP further. The SUV features 10 airbags and gets cruise control, pedestrian warning, pre-collision warning, lane departure assist and more. The brand has offered the 2020 model of the C-HR with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The customers in the international markets can avail the Toyota C-HR in two powertrains namely a 1.8-litre petrol hybrid and 2.0-lite turbo petrol engine. Both the engine variants have been mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. More information on the launch of the SUV is expected to be revealed in the coming months though if launched in India, one can expect it to make it to the markets sometime in the next year. Source
