Tata Motors is all set to introduce the much-anticipated Punch subcompact SUV, which is expected to be released in mid-October around Dussehra. Dealers have already begun taking pre-orders for the new Punch for a nominal token amount ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 21,000, which is refundable upon cancellation. Tata Motors, on the other hand, is yet to make an official statement. According to rumours, car delivery might begin in the last week of October or the first week of November.
Recently, a YouTube video of two manufacturing units of Tata Punch moving through Gurgaon city has surfaced. The video displays two additional colour possibilities for the little hatchback. Concerning its exterior, the micro SUV was previously photographed in an orange dual-tone paint scheme with a black roof. The two Punch variants have now been spotted with intriguing dual-tone body colours. Here is the spy video:

The two new colours include the likes of a bright gold/brown hue with a black roof and a lighter blue shade. This blue appears to be similar to the "Tropical Mist" hue offered with the premium Tata Safari, but it may be a tad lighter. Tata Punch is the second automobile in the company's portfolio, following Altroz, to be propped by the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture). It seems like the perfect mixture of Tata Nexon, Tata Safari and the Tata Harrier.
Tata Punch Micro SUV Interior Officially Revealed
Thanks to the official teaser by the company, we are able to see the cabin of the forthcoming micro SUV without camouflage. It sports a clean, basic dashboard with dual-tone dark grey and white inside trim. The infotainment system, which seems to be a 7-inch screen, will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We notice projected, horizontal air-conditioning vents with silver bezels, but the highlight is the stick-out display in the centre, which is identical to what we've seen on the Altorz and Nexon.
Powering the Punch will be the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that caters to the Tata Tiago/Tigor and is capable of offering maximum power and torque of 86HP and 113Nm respectively. As per the details available, there will also be a turbocharged version of the same engine, which will be good for 110HP/140Nm. Both the engine options will come mated to 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while Tata will also offer a 5-speed AMT gearbox as an option.
Once launched in India, the Tata Punch would be competing in the markets against the likes of Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100, Datsun Redi-GO, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. One can expect the micro-SUV to be priced around INR 4.50 – INR 7.50 lakh in the Indian markets.
