Tata Nano Discontinued in India

Tata Nano Discontinued in India: There have been recent reports which have suggested that Tata Motors will be planning to discontinue four models from their current product portfolio. One of the vehicles which might be discontinued is the Nano. The company had said that they were planning on reducing the number of platforms from six to just two by the year 2020-21. The world’s cheapest car made it to the news recently when the previous chairman of the Tata Sons’ Group, Cyrus Mistry, claimed that the company was bearing losses because of the Tata Nano. The company might decide to discontinue the production of the Nano, or at least that is what the reports have been hinting at. This is mainly because of the reason that Tata’s car for the common man failed to achieve the desired number for the sales and the small wonder is nearing the end of its life since the company has, according to the reports, stopped the production for this model. The sales have gone down drastically; Tata Motors has produced just a single unit of the vehicle in June this year, as compared to 275 units of the model in June last year. No unit of this model has been exported in the month of June 2018, as compared to the 25 units that were exported in June last year. However, this may not be the end of the car. An electric car based on the Tata Nano, the Jayem Neo, has been spotted in India with decals belonging to Ola. And while you may not be able to buy the electric version of the Nano just yet, you will soon see it out in the streets.
