Acquisition of Sanand Plant and Facility Overview: Catalyst for Growth

The acquisition of the Sanand plant from Ford on January 10, 2023, represents a strategic move that positions it as Tata Motors' second manufacturing hub in Gujarat. Encompassing an expansive 460 acres, the facility has been meticulously planned to accommodate the production of both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) models. Impressive Production Capacity and Technological Upgrades: Paving the Way for Innovation

A noteworthy aspect of the Sanand plant is its impressive annual production capacity, standing at 3 lakh units and scalable up to an impressive 4.20 lakh units. Achieving this capacity has involved substantial retooling and technological enhancements throughout the facility. In the press shop, new dies have been introduced for stamping critical skin panels, while the weld shop has undergone a transformation with additional robots, new grippers, and fixtures. Technological advancements extend to the paint shop, featuring modifications in handling systems, external robot programming, internal robotic painting, and the integration of a waxing setup.
