Suzuki Presents the e-Burgman at Japan Mobility Show 2023

The Suzuki e-Burgman, an electric scooter, was recently featured at the Japan Mobility Show in 2023. Suzuki had introduced this electric scooter earlier in the year, and it's worth noting that this model will incorporate swappable batteries provided by Gachaco, a consortium formed by Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki are examples of significant Japanese manufacturers.

Suzuki has been actively conducting experiments with the e-Burgman since April of this year, primarily in Tokyo, and the trials have now expanded to Osaka and the main goal of these tests is to collect vital information on the scooter's daily usability. In order to test and refine the electric scooter further before it is mass-produced, this data is essential.

In terms of specifications, the Suzuki e-Burgman is equipped with an AC synchronous motor that delivers a peak power output of 4kW and produces 18Nm of torque. This electric scooter has a range of 44 kilometers on a single charge and a seat height of 780mm for a comfortable riding experience.

It's interesting to note that the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant of the Suzuki Burgman Street is already available for purchase in the Indian market and there have been sightings of the e-Burgman being tested on Indian roads. Given these developments, there are strong expectations that the Suzuki e-Burgman will be launched in India in 2024, following its initial launch in other regions.
