Ola Electric is one of the most popular premium e-scooters. With India being one of the world's largest 2W markets, the electric revolution has not taken a back seat. In fact, the number of 2W EVs is steadily increasing. The Indian government contributed to this growth through the FAME II subsidies.
Despite the fact that the government has extended the FAME II Scheme until March 31, 2024. Manufacturers of 2W EVs should take a step toward more affordable products. With Hero Vida and Honda expected to enter this arena soon, competition will heat up.
Ola's S1 included the majority of its flagship-worthy features for Rs 99,999. With rising competition, Ola appears to be announcing a sub-Rs 80,000 electric scooter on Diwali. Ola plans to launch one of the country's most affordable premium electric scooters. And the price of that electric scooter is likely to be less than Rs 80,000.
Lower prices immediately imply lower specifications and features. Because this new product is less expensive than the Ola S1 electric scooter, it will have fewer features. In comparison to the S1 Pro, the S1 already has fewer features. This upcoming product will most likely follow a similar strategy and compete with existing products.
The upcoming Ola electric scooter may have similar or slightly lower specifications than the S1. Ola will reveal more information at their event later this month on October 22, 2022. Rumours surrounding the product suggest that it will have similar specs with fewer features due to the lower price tag of Rs 80K.
