Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 were recently unveiled at
Royal Enfield Rider Mania 2017 in India. This marks the first official presence and entry of twin cylinder motorcycles for the Indian market. Those who were in Goa must have enjoyed the feat of looking at Royal Enfield’s future.

Yes, they are the future as Indians are getting more into biking and their change in preferences will need more options like
Interceptor 650 and
Continental GT 650 in the coming years. Royal Enfield must make these machines as durable as a 1970’s Bullet and success will definitely fall into their side.

Public first witnessed the presence of these motorcycles at
EICMA 2017 in Italy. First of all, revealing them internationally sent a strong message among motorcycle community and secondly, they are actually targeting audience from European as well as American markets.

These bikes are inspired from motorcycles built around a half century back and adds a pinch of technology to create a perfect flavor for certain markets. India won’t be a bulk sale market as trends here are completely different and number game ends right after you cross the INR 1.5 lakh mark.
Products that cost more than this are limited to four or even three digit sales in the country. Royal Enfield is the only brand that gets 5 digit sales for a product above INR 1 lakh and thus, fans hope them to place these two at a perfect point.
Initially, Royal Enfield can expect both Interceptor 650 and Continental GT to sell 500 units while numbers will only go up when more bikes are seen on road. The 648 cc, twin cylinder engine powering them is good for 47 HP at 7100 rpm and 52 Nm at 4000 rpm. Chrome Edition for both the bikes was even showcased at Royal Enfield Rider Mania.
