Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Spied Again - Exhaust Design Revealed

A set of spy images of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is making rounds on the internet. Himalayan 450 is not only to be released in India, but it will hit the international markets as well. The automotive enthusiast Bibin Benny Mathew caught a glimpse of the test mule recently, though it was camouflaged and not many details were visible but new design speculation has taken root quite well.

The forthcoming Himalayan 450 supposedly will get a newly developed 450cc engine, because of the lack of details, max power and max torque output is unknown, but it is expected to reach 40 bhp and 45 Nm, respectively. Unlike the off-road-oriented Himalayan 411 (5-speed gearbox), we expect the Himalayan 450 to host a 6-speed gearbox.

Electronic packages like ride-by-wire, riding modes, tripper display for Bluetooth connectivity and navigation are expected to make it to the Himalayan 450. We can see it in the spy photos, the bike has got a tubular frame for mounting luggage and a front beak to complete the Adv-tourer look. The seat looks to be a split-unit and seems comfortable. The rider's triangle seems different from the current Himalayan, and the footpegs of the Himalayan 450 seem a bit to the rear.

The engine block and the exhaust system of the upcoming RE Himalayan 450 is a brand new design and is not seen on any of the previous versions of Royal Enfield, it can have a likeness to KTM Duke and Adventure motorcycles. It is expected to get smaller wheels and tyres and a bigger fuel tank than the Himalayan 411.

In terms of suspension, we see it with the Upside-Down forks in the front and a mono-shock absorber at the rear, likely to get nimble handling. In the recently released spy images, we can see that the Himalayan 450 is laid out with a vertical instrument cluster.

The price and the launch date are unknown at the moment, but we expect it to be around the festive season. There is also some speculation regarding the discontinuation of the current-gen motorcycle after the launch of the RE Himalayan 450 as it is supposed to be a more powerful and better-equipped machine.
