Production Begins for Upgraded Skoda Scala & Kamiq

Skoda Auto has commenced production of the updated Scala compact car and the Kamiq city SUV at its primary manufacturing facility in Mlada Boleslav. With these model upgrades, you may expect new facilities and assistance systems that are often only seen in higher car classes. Notably, there's an increased integration of sustainable materials in both models, aligning with Škoda's commitment to environmental responsibility.

Continued Success of Compact Models

Since their debut in 2019, the Scala and Kamiq have seen remarkable success. Over 260,000 units of the Scala have been produced, with more than 56,000 manufactured in 2023 alone. The Kamiq city SUV witnessed over 107,000 units produced in 2023, establishing itself as the brand's top-selling SUV, surpassing 576,000 units since its launch.

The initial versions of the Skoda Scala and Kamiq received acclaim, earning awards such as the Red Dot Design Award for the Scala in 2019 and honors as the UK's 2020 Family Car of the Year and the Czech Republic's 2021 Fleet Car of the Year. Similarly, the Kamiq secured titles like Car of the Year 2019 in Finland, Fleet Car of the Year 2021 in the Czech Republic, and Best Import SUV below €30k in Germany for both 2022 and 2023, underscoring their appeal and quality in their respective segments.

New Design, Interior, and Assistance Systems

The Skoda Scala and Kamiq's equipment and design have seen a substantial evolution with the most recent revisions. Matrix-LED headlights are now available for both models, accompanied by revamped front and rear bumpers, rims, and radiator grilles. These changes enhance the distinctive aesthetics of each car with the Scala adopting a sportier appearance and the Kamiq presenting a more rugged SUV style. The fifth door of both models proudly showcases the new Škoda logotype. Additionally, the incorporation of sustainable materials in elements like upholstery and floor mats emphasizes Škoda's dedication to minimizing its environmental footprint.

Safety Features and Modernization

Maintaining a high level of active and passive safety, the Skoda Scala and Kamiq boast robust body structures and advanced assist systems. The repertoire of assistance features, typically exclusive to higher vehicle classes, has been expanded to include Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitor and Lane Assist.

As part of the upgrade, Skoda has restructured the feature offerings for both models. With its wireless charging, cooling, and quick-charging USB connections the Phone Box is a noteworthy addition. Six interior versions are now available to customers in three different equipment lines: Selection, Top Selection, and Monte Carlo.

Global Availability

These models are available in more than 60 markets worldwide. The new Scala and Kamiq are set to be accessible at Skoda partners in the Czech Republic from February 2024, catering to customers seeking the latest in design, sustainability, and safety features.
