The Toyota Innova Hycross petrol lineup has been expanded with the introduction of a new top-spec GX (O) variant, available in both seven-seater and eight-seater configurations, priced between Rs 20.99 lakh and Rs 21.13 lakh. This addition aligns with previous reports about Toyota planning to introduce a higher trim level for the Innova Hycross petrol with deliveries beginning today.
Toyota Innova Hycross Petrol GX (O): Pricing and Features
The GX (O) variant commands a premium of approximately Rs 1 lakh over the previous top-spec GX variant. For this additional cost, Toyota has enhanced the model with several new features including front LED fog lights, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and a rear defogger. The interior benefits from a more luxurious touch with a chestnut theme, soft-touch materials on the dashboard and doors, and newly designed fabric seat covers. Added comfort features include automatic climate control, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility.
Interestingly, the eight-seater GX (O) lacks some features found in the seven-seater, such as the 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a retractable rear sunshade. This results in a price difference, with the seven-seater version costing Rs 14,000 more, at Rs 21.13 lakh.
Color Options and Engine Specifications
The GX (O) variant is available in a range of seven exterior colors: Blackish Ageha Glass Flake, Platinum White Pearl, Attitude Black Mica, Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Super White, and Avant Garde Bronze Metallic.
Powering the GX (O) is the same 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 174hp and 205Nm, paired exclusively with a CVT automatic transmission. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 16.13 kmpl for this setup.
Market Positioning and Competition
While the Toyota Innova Hycross primarily competes in the MPV segment without direct rivals in its specific setup, it does face competition from seven-seater SUVs such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. The hybrid variant of the Hycross, on the other hand, is positioned against the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, offering consumers alternatives within the same or overlapping price ranges.
