Bajaj Auto has been selling the same model in Turkey from quite a long time while they claimed the production halt to make way for the AS series for India. The older model came with a carburetor while the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 will have fuel injection for better performance and efficiency. The model is expected to produce 24.2 BHP and 18.3 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox while most of the mechanical components remain the same as the older model. The low weight and nearly equal power to the RS200 makes it a good option for those who love street bikes more than the faired ones. It will definitely get a price hike as the cost of fuel injection would bring it closer to the flagship Pulsar RS200. The motorcycle will compete against TVS Apache RTR 200 and KTM 200 Duke in India. The former is priced at a lower point while the latter uses premium parts and gets a higher price tag.

The motorcycle will clearly rival Honda CB Hornet 160R, TVS Apache RTR 160 and Suzuki Gixxer 155. Pulsar NS160 would share the same frame as Pulsar NS200 and RS200. From the visual similarities, it can even be said that the same frame underpins the Dominar 400 and would be the best one around its segment. Pulsar NS160 carries dual tone shades, minimal fairing around the headlight and fuel tank, underbelly exhaust and the same digital-analogue unit as being used in the flagship Pulsar RS200. It can get a genuine price tag of below INR 80,000 for India. The front uses regular telescopic forks, 240 mm disc brake and halogen headlight while the rear comes with mono-shock suspension, LED taillight and 100/90-17 MRF Zapper rear tyre. The motorcycle comes with both electric as well as kick start option. The alloy wheel design even remains the same as bigger Pulsar NS200 Fi. It would be one of the best option for Pulsar fans as the oil cooled, 160cc motor would definitely produce class leading performance figures due to low kerb weight while its styling is nothing less than a premium street fighter for India.- Expected Price - INR 78,000
- Expected Launch - Mid-2017
