Custom bike builders provide a level of personality to their creations. The fact that manufacturers strive to appeal to a far broader spectrum of buyers. But a custom bike builder must appeal to only one.
Some custom bikes are more than cosmetic changes. The same concept can be seen in Neev Motorcycles' new Café Racer mod. This Continental GT 650 has also been tweaked to produce extra horsepower.
Improved brakes are always associated with increased power. A dual disc layout at the front with improved 4-pot callipers anchors this modified Continental GT 650 Café Racer. The modification also includes a new Brembo master cylinder.
The base Royal Enfield GT 650's stock ECU is tweaked from the factory. It generates a max power of 47 HP and 52 Nm of peak torque. This ECU has been remapped to improve performance. Because this ECU update appears to be minor, it eliminates the need for more robust forged components.
The front forks appear larger, adding a lot of meat to the motorcycle's attractiveness. It has 17-inch alloy wheels lifted from a Harley-Davidson Street Rod 750. It sports Pirelli Rally STR tyres with a block pattern with 150/60-17 front and 180/60-17 rear section. The dual exhausts remain the same, but with a new unobstructed exhaust system that features Akrapovic branding on the end cans.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650's original ethos has been preserved. The fuel tank remains in stock condition, it now has a new gloss black tank tie. Front and rear fenders and side body panels. A bespoke rear subframe with a custom single seat and cowl. These are among the other handcrafted pieces and accessories.
A new bash plate has been installed to protect the underbelly. A new triple tree and clip-on handlebar, both CNC machined. Further adjustments include number plate assembly and repositioned stock instrument clusters. The cherry on top is a bespoke Grey hue that plays with gloss black components throughout. LED headlamps, bar-end mirrors, and grips are available as aftermarket extras.
