New-gen Hyundai Verna is slated to be released in India on March 21, 2023. Reservations have commenced online and at Hyundai dealerships for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The new Verna will be available in four trim levels: EX, S, SX, and SX (O).
The new Hyundai Verna is projected to be a strong competitor to segment leaders. It includes a thorough set of upgrades to the exterior aesthetics, performance, and safety. New Verna has also been modified to use the E20 ethanol-blend fuel.
The spy images that have leaked online till now have been of the international-spec variant of Verna. The first unmasked photo of an India-spec Verna has been discovered. Manufacturing of the new Verna 2023 model has begun at the company's Chennai, India facility.
New-gen model of the Verna sedan is based on Hyundai's design concept of Sensuous Sportiness. The front comes with a parametric front grille, cutting bumper design, and sleek projector headlamps. A chiselled bonnet and a full-width LED light strip distinguish the vehicle.
The new-gen Verna is to receive a revamped dashboard, a new touchscreen infotainment system, and a variety of extra upgrades. ADAS features have also been included in the new Verna.
The new Hyundai Verna will only be available in petrol form. The 2017 Verna's switch to gasoline has advantages, as it gains a new 1.5-litre turbo engine. It produces a max power output of 160 horsepower and a peak torque of 253 Nm. This new turbo petrol engine will be the most powerful in the mid-size sedan class. It will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The second engine option will be a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or an IVT transmission.
The new-gen Verna is expected to cost more because it includes a slew of improvements. It could be released at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh. In comparison, the Honda City starts at Rs 11.87 lakh, while the Skoda Slavia starts at Rs 11.29 lakh.
