McLaren GT Facelift Transforms into the All-New McLaren GTS!

As 2023 concludes, McLaren introduces the GTS, formerly known as the GT, featuring enhancements under the hood, weight reduction, and subtle design changes. The refreshed GTS maintains the GT's top speed and 0-100kph time while elevating performance and handling.

Engine and Chassis

The GTS boasts an improved 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, now generating 635hp (15hp more than the GT) and maintaining 630Nm of torque. Despite shedding 10kg of weight, the GTS retains the MonoCell II-T carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, resulting in a higher power-to-weight ratio of 418hp/tonne.

Nose-Lift System and Steering

The optional nose-lift system on the GTS offers up to 130mm of ground clearance, now operating twice as fast, taking 4 seconds for the process. The GTS-specific hydraulic power steering enhances low-speed manoeuvrability and handles challenging situations with improved responsiveness.

Exterior and Wheels

Subtle exterior changes include a redesigned front bumper with pronounced air intakes, heightened vents at the rear, and a new diffuser setup for improved cooling. The GTS features new 10-spoke forged 'Turbine' wheels with custom-made Pirelli P Zero tyres (225mm front, 295mm rear).

Interior Upgrades

The cabin of the GTS showcases new leather seats, a glass tailgate, a 10.25-inch instrument display, ambient lighting, and a 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Optional packages offer carbon fibre trims, complementing the standard carbon fibre roof panel, which can be exchanged for an electrochromic glass sunroof.

Price and Rivals

While McLaren is yet to reveal the GTS prices in India, it competes with rivals like the Bentley Continental GT V8 and Porsche 911 Turbo S in international markets. The anticipated pricing is expected to be slightly above the GT, which was priced at around Rs 4.59 crore (ex-showroom).

The McLaren GTS signifies an evolution of the GT delivering enhanced performance, handling, and aesthetic refinements. With the rebranded GTS, McLaren aims to maintain its position among top-tier luxury sports cars offering a compelling blend of power, sophistication, and cutting-edge technology.
