Maruti XL6 Strong Hybrid Set to Arrive by 2026

With a focus on hybrid technology, Maruti Suzuki plans to completely revamp its inventory of automobiles. Reports suggest that the Maruti XL6 will be equipped with a strong hybrid system within the next two years.

It is anticipated that the XL6 hybrid will achieve an exceptional fuel efficiency of more than 30 km/l. To increase the vehicle's range without directly powering it the system will employ a gasoline engine as a range extender. Instead, the petrol engine will generate electricity to drive the electric motor that powers the wheels, similar to Nissan's e-Power technology.

Maruti Suzuki's plans go beyond the XL6. The company is also working on a compact MPV to compete with the likes of the Renault Kiger and a micro SUV to take on Tata's Punch. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki is set to enter the electric vehicle market with an affordable electric hatchback based on the eVX concept showcased last year.

The hybrid technology being developed is not exclusive to the XL6. Other models in Maruti Suzuki's lineup including the compact MPV, are also expected to feature this hybrid system, promising high fuel efficiency.

Maruti Suzuki aims to make hybrid technology more accessible by leveraging its in-house HEV system to reduce costs and this strategy will help the company cater to a broader consumer base with its advanced hybrid offerings.
