The entry-level Zeta trim starts at Rs 12.74 lakh, while the top-spec Alpha trim is priced at Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the Jimny began at the Auto Expo, and the company has already received over 30,000 bookings. According to dealer sources, deliveries will begin in mid-June in a phased manner.

The five-door Suzuki Jimny, which was developed specifically for the Indian market, will be produced at Maruti's Gurugram plant and exported to other markets. India is the first country to receive the five-door version of the Jimny. The Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 105 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. Maruti offers the Jimny with a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Jimny is different from the rest of Maruti's lineup in India, which uses the newer K15C engine. The Jimny uses the older K15B engine. Maruti claims that the manual variant gets 16.94 kilometres per litre, while the automatic variant gets 16.39 kilometres per litre.

Jimny's signature design features are all present on the India-spec model. Maruti has equipped the Jimny 5-door with 15-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped with 195/80 tyres. The Jimny is a capable off-roader thanks to its Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4WD system, manual transfer case, low-range gearbox, and rugged ladder-frame chassis. It also has a 3-link rigid axle suspension and an electronic traction control system. The Jimny 5-door has a ground clearance of 210mm, which allows it to tackle even the most challenging terrain.

The Jimny's top-of-the-line Alpha trim is loaded with features, including automatic LED headlights, a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry and start, and a suite of safety features including six airbags, ESP, and hill-hold assist.

The Jimny is available in seven colours, two of which are dual-tone. Despite having five doors, the Jimny is still only a four-seater. The Jimny is a new off-road SUV that joins a growing segment in India. It is not a direct rival to the Mahindra Thar or Force Gurkha, but it will compete with them for price and positioning. The Jimny offers good off-road capability. It is likely to appeal to buyers who are looking for a rugged and capable SUV without spending a lot of money.

Which SUVs will the Jimny rival?
2023-01-14 05:13:24 AM

The Jimny is sure to be a good choice for off-roaders, as it is more capable off the beaten track than the Monocoque-bodied SUVs. Though it may not match them for comfort and on-road driving manners, its off-road capabilities give it an edge over the likes of the Force Gurkha and the Mahindra Thar. The new-gen Gurkha and Thar come this year, and this could mean great things for the Jimny's off-road capabilities. With a strong off-road pedigree, the Jimny could prove to be a great choice for those looking for an off-road-ready vehicle.

Is the Maruti Suzuki Jimny a better value for money and practical choice compared to the Maruti Gypsy, Mahindra Bolero, and Mahindra Scorpio?
2023-01-14 05:02:00 AM

Gypsy and Jimny are both great options for those who are looking for an SUV that offers a balance of power and comfort. Jimny is a more modern and feature-rich option, with a powerful 1.5 litre K15B petrol engine and a host of safety and comfort features. It also has a better power to weight ratio and better off-road ability than the Gypsy.

On the other hand, the Gypsy has a more traditional design and is powered by a 1.3 litre G13BB petrol engine, delivering 81 PS of power and 103 Nm of torque. It is a good option if you want a value for money SUV and space for more passengers as it can seat up to 8 people.

When it comes to Bolero and Scorpio, they are best suited for desert regions, offering great performance and durability.

In conclusion, if you need an all-purpose SUV that can handle a variety of terrains, then either the Gypsy or Jimny would be a great choice. However, if you need a vehicle specifically for desert regions, then I would recommend the Scorpio or Bolero.

What is the mileage of a diesel engine for Maruti Jimny ?

We believe that Maruti Suzuki will likely not be launching the Jimny with diesel engine options as they are discontinuing diesel engines from 2020. The only way to verify this is to wait for Maruti Suzuki to officially reveal the Jimny for India. We expect the Jimny to offer a petrol engine option as this is now the new trend among automobile manufacturers.
