Maruti Jimny Automatic Variants Continue to Be in High Demand

Maruti Suzuki's Jimny particularly its automatic transmission (AT) variants has continued to experience strong demand since its launch in June 2023. The car made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo with bookings opening on January 17. So far, Maruti Suzuki has manufactured 14,500 units with 10,000 units already sold. As per the plan the company is producing 2,500 units of the Jimny every month although it's unclear if this figure includes exports. Notably, there is a heightened demand for compact SUVs in urban areas compared to rural markets.

The Jimny was a standout product during Maruti Suzuki's presentation at the 2023 Auto Expo. Bookings commenced at the Auto Expo, and production for the SUV commenced in May 2023. The Jimny is available in three manual transmission (MT) variants and three AT variants featuring a total of five single-tone and two dual-tone paint schemes.

The exclusive engine option is a 1.5-liter AT petrol engine that generates 103 bhp and 136 Nm of torque. It can be paired with a five-speed manual or a four-speed AT. Jimny's prices currently span from Rs. 12.74 lakh to Rs. 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom). This model's consistent demand underscores its popularity among urban consumers and its significant contribution to Maruti Suzuki's ongoing success in the market.
