Mahindra XUV.e9's Dashboard Upgrade: Triple-Screen in Action

Mahindra, a brand synonymous with SUVs in India, is making significant strides in the electric mobility space. The XUV.e9 is one of the upcoming electric SUVs from Mahindra, currently undergoing testing. This vehicle is set to expand Mahindra's portfolio which has traditionally been heavy on diesel-powered, ladder-frame chassis SUVs.

Triple-Screen Dashboard

The XUV.e9 is expected to feature a triple-screen dashboard layout, a step up from the dual-screen layout seen in the XUV700. This new layout will provide the front passenger with their own screen enhancing the overall in-car experience. The dashboard will be dominated by a black glass slab housing three horizontal displays side-by-side, with the central infotainment and left-end passenger display being touchscreens.

Design and Features

The XUV.e9 is essentially the coupe version of the XUV.e8, which is the electric counterpart of the XUV700 ICE vehicle. It is expected to boast a stylish profile, large wheels, and a massive road presence with a wide body, connecting LED tail lights, and a prominent front LED signature.

In terms of features, the XUV.e8 prototype demonstrated in the UK showed that Mahindra is retaining traditional knobs and buttons for crucial functions like climate controls and hazard lights, along with proper stalks on the steering wheel for headlights and wiper controls. These features are likely to carry over to the XUV.e9 as well. Additionally, the XUV.e9 is expected to have a 2-spoke steering wheel and a slightly redesigned center console.

Powertrains and Platform

The Mahindra XUV.e9 will be built on the brand's new electric INGLO platform, which is designed with export aspirations in mind. The battery capacity is expected to range between 60 kWh and 80 kWh, with options for both single-motor and dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations.

The Mahindra XUV.e9 represents a significant step forward in the brand's journey towards electric mobility. With its stylish design, innovative triple-screen dashboard and advanced powertrain options the XUV.e9 is poised to make a strong impact in the electric SUV market. As Mahindra continues to invest in electric vehicles the XUV.e9 is a testament to the brand's commitment to providing sustainable and advanced mobility solutions.
