Mahindra Trademarks Scorpio N Pik Up Design in India, But Expect a Different Look!

Mahindra's upcoming Global Pik Up, based on the Scorpio N SUV, is making waves in the world of pickup trucks and patent images have shed light on its rugged design mirroring the earlier concept unveiled during a global event in South Africa.

Rugged Exterior

The patent image reveals a rugged design, with elements akin to the Scorpio N SUV, such as the headlight shape. Notably, it sports a new grille design, a robust skid plate, and a snorkel to enhance its water-wading capabilities. The pickup also boasts a roof rack for additional storage complete with a horizontal LED light bar. Sitting higher than the standard SUV, it features ten-spoke alloy wheels with off-road-spec tires and substantial wheel arches. Twin side steps, besides their visual appeal, make getting in and out of the vehicle easier.

Interior and Features

The interior of the Scorpio N Pik Up is reminiscent of the Scorpio N SUV but adopts an all-black theme with red stitching. It comes loaded with features including connected car technology, a branded audio system, Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and multiple airbags.

Powertrain Details

While precise powertrain information is yet to be disclosed, Mahindra has confirmed that the pickup will be equipped with a revamped version of the 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine and this powerplant will offer both manual and automatic transmission options and four-wheel-drive capabilities.

Global Availability

The Scorpio N Pik Up is set to launch in international markets initially, including ASEAN countries, Australia, South Africa, South and Central America, before making its way to India. It is expected to be competitively priced at around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning itself as a formidable rival to the Isuzu V-cross and undercutting the Toyota Hilux.
