The latest buzz in the automotive world comes from yet another sighting of the much-anticipated Mahindra Thar 5-door, which is set to make its debut on August 15 this year. The camouflaged exterior and interior of this model which we most recently encountered, hint at some intriguing new features.

A standout observation from the new spy shots is the apparent housing for an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) camera behind the interior rear-view mirror. Considering the expected pricing tier of the Thar 5-door, it’s highly probable that Mahindra will equip this model with sophisticated safety technology. This could include a similar ADAS suite as found in the Mahindra XUV700, featuring lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and a driver attentiveness alert, enhancing both safety and driving comfort.

The latest images display a fully camouflaged Thar 5-door sporting multi-spoke alloy wheels and tailgate-mounted spare wheel, alongside LED taillights, which collectively point to its readiness for production. Although the front end remains unseen in these new images, previous sightings have confirmed the inclusion of projector headlights, circular LED DRLs, and a redesigned grille, ensuring a modern yet rugged aesthetic.

Mahindra is expected to generously equip the Thar 5-door with advanced safety features, including up to six airbags, rear disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, and front parking sensors.
