Volkswagen has just unveiled an exciting addition to its electric car lineup - the Volkswagen ID 3 GTX. It's essentially a performance version of the popular ID 3 hatchback, bringing more power and speed to the electric vehicle (EV) market.

Powerful Performance

What sets the ID 3 GTX apart is its impressive performance capabilities. At the top of the range, it boasts a staggering 326 horsepower making it one of the most powerful electric cars Volkswagen has ever produced. With this power, the ID 3 GTX can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.6 seconds making it the quickest accelerating VW EV to date.

Enhanced Powertrain and Range

Under the hood, the ID 3 GTX features Volkswagen's latest APP550 electric motor delivering a substantial increase in power compared to the standard ID 3. Additionally, the battery size has been slightly increased to 79 kilowatt-hours (kWh), providing an estimated range of up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. Plus, with DC fast charging capabilities peaking at 175 kilowatts (kW), the ID 3 GTX can charge from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes.

Dynamic Chassis and Suspension

To complement its powerful powertrain, the ID 3 GTX has undergone chassis and suspension tweaks aimed at enhancing its driving dynamics. The steering has been retuned for greater precision, while the Performance model features a new Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system, similar to the Golf GTI improving ride comfort and handling.

Sporty Exterior and Interior Design

Visually, the ID 3 GTX sports a sportier aesthetic compared to its standard counterpart. It features a distinctive front bumper design, LED 'arrowhead' daytime running lights, black gloss trim, a rear diffuser, and 20-inch wheels as standard. Inside the cabin takes inspiration from the Golf GTI with sports seats adorned with red stitching and GTX branding. The infotainment system has also been upgraded to run on Volkswagen's latest software.

Future Plans for India

While the ID 3 GTX may not be available in all markets just yet, Volkswagen has plans to introduce electric vehicles to more regions, including India. The ID 4 crossover is slated for release in the near future, and the brand is also working on developing more affordable EV options tailored to the Indian market. With the growing interest in electric mobility Volkswagen aims to offer a diverse range of electric vehicles to cater to different needs and preferences.
