Introducing the BMW M 1000 XR: A Powerful Addition to the M Line-Up

BMW has recently unveiled the M 1000 XR, the third model in its M line-up. This remarkable motorcycle is powered by the same engine found in the S 1000 RR superbike, producing an impressive 201 horsepower at 12,750 RPM and 113 Newton-meters of torque at 11,000 RPM. The M 1000 XR is a force to be reckoned with on the road.

Aerodynamic Advancements: Carbon-Fiber Winglets

One of the standout features of the M 1000 XR is its carbon-fiber winglets and These not only improve the bike's appearance but also have practical uses. When the bike is cruising at 220 km/h, it produces 12 kg of downforce. The rider's stability and control are improved by this downforce, especially at high speeds. Furthermore, the M 1000 XR has forged rims as standard, which offer better performance and durability.

Enhanced Performance with the M Competition Package

For those riders seeking even greater speed and agility, BMW offers the M Competition Package. This package includes M Carbon wheels and various M Carbon parts, such as a rear wheel cover with an integrated chain guard, side panels, front wheel cover, inner cover, and ignition/steering lock cover. The package also includes fully adjustable M footrests for both the rider and passenger, as well as a lap timer. Opting for the M Competition Package results in a reduction in the bike's weight by an additional 3 kilograms, further enhancing its performance.

Fine-Tuning for Acceleration and Control

To boost acceleration, BMW has made significant adjustments to the M 1000 XR's gear ratios. Gears 4 to 6 are now shorter than those found on the S 1000 XR, and the final drive gearing is also shorter, featuring a 47-tooth rear sprocket compared to the 45-tooth unit on the S 1000 XR. Although the bike's chassis is based on that of the S 1000 XR, unique M brake calipers and discs, as well as carbon-fiber winglets, provide outstanding control and stability. The Brake Slide Assist system is also included as standard equipment on the M 1000 XR, giving the rider even more security and control.

The Updated S 1000 XR for 2024

In addition to the M 1000 XR, BMW has also introduced an updated version of the S 1000 XR for the year 2024. This model now offers a bit more power, boasting 170 horsepower at 11,000 RPM, a slight increase compared to the earlier model's 165 horsepower. The torque remains consistent at 114 Newton meters, produced at 9,250 RPM. Potentially improving rider comfort, the seat height has been increased from 840 millimeters to 850 millimeters. Notably, the 2024 S 1000 XR comes with new features as standard, including a Headlight Pro, a USB charger, and a keyless ride. The bike seems more coherent and appealing now that the front beak matches the bike's overall color.

Coming Soon to India

Enthusiasts can look forward to the arrival of both the M 1000 XR and the updated S 1000 XR in India sometime next year.
