Hyundai to launch 2017 Elantra with 2 new engine options in India

This year in September, Hyundai plans to bring the next-gen Elantra for the Indian market. The India-spec Elantra will be powered by an all new 149 HP 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol motor featuring Atkinson cycle combustion which will help improve fuel economy. Along with the petrol engine, Hyundai will be introducing a 1.6-litre diesel engine with increased output from the current 128 HP to 136 HP. 6facf8d76fd6336a55922b2567a040d525d12634 Both the petrol and diesel engines will be mated with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic gearboxes. Hyundai is also planning to come up with a turbo-petrol engine along with the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. But this may take some time to enter the market. This time the Elantra will have a more grown-up design with Hyundai’s hexagonal grille to boast its personality. Elantra is known as Hyundai Avante in some international markets. e1845940305246a23e973d06ba08a4c58fa21c3f The interiors will feature a more conventional looking dashboard, superior cabin quality and improved quality of materials used. The new Elantra is going to compete against the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Jetta, Renault Fluence, and the Chevrolet Cruze. The tenth-gen Honda Civic is also expected to be launched in India next year. 1c7cc3463e30a0192d478c482c4f1dc579213d48 3fa598d33299ed92f4c731f5d0f44204c3962801 a365265093d4af29bc2af67862373a266fb31bca fa0b7394587980b2babd37762d9b1fd9bd962db2 fab675d52ad1c68aa9c22e5ce942d39def5a7b2b
