Hyundai i30 Facelift Unveiled

Hyundai's globally popular hatchback, the i30, has recently received a subtle facelift. This minor update applies to all variants of the i30 including the Hatchback, Fastback, and Wagon. The goal of the facelift is to make the i30 more competitive in the small hatchback market.

The facelift is indeed minor, focusing on subtle aesthetic changes. The i30 competes with other hatchbacks like the Volkswagen Golf and BMW 1-Series in international markets. With the discontinuation of the i30 N hot hatch in Europe, the focus is now on the N Line variant.

The third-generation i30, first introduced in 2016, received its first facelift in 2020. Following a four-year cycle, the second facelift was introduced in 2024. The i30 is available in three versions: the standard Hatchback, the Fastback coupe-style sedan, and the Estate wagon. The i30 Fastback could have been a potential offering in India if Hyundai had continued the Elantra there. In some regions, like North America, the i30 is still sold under the Elantra name.

The design updates are subtle but add a fresh and sophisticated look. The front end features a slightly updated grille pattern, a new front bumper, and redesigned fog light housings. Standard across all variants are the new LED headlights.

A brand-new 16-inch alloy wheel design is part of the makeover. At the back, there's a new bumper and some added chrome elements for a touch of elegance. The i30 facelift comes in twelve color options, with seven being new.

Inside, the facelifted i30 offers a standard 4.2-inch instrument screen and an optional 10.2-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster. Updates include a new upholstery design, piano black plastics, USB Type-C ports, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, over-the-air updates, and a range of ADAS features like Junction AEB.

Although the i30 N has been discontinued, the i30 N Line variant is available for those seeking a sportier look. It includes a sporty body kit, up to 18-inch alloy wheels, and interior upholstery in leather and suede with sporty red accents.

The powertrain options for the facelifted i30 include a 120 PS 1.0L 3-cylinder and a 160 PS 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, both available with a manual or DCT gearbox. The 48V hybrid system is compatible with both engines.
