Honda has officially launched the WR-V compact SUV in India with a starting price tag of INR 7.75 lakhs for the base petrol version. The diesel variant of WR-V starts at INR 8.79 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). It is based on premium hatchback Jazz and carries loads of additions to provide it with an exclusive identity. Honda WR-V is available in 2 grades - S and VX. It would be competing with the likes of Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

Honda WR-V is powered by the same set of petrol and diesel engine as Honda Jazz. The 1199 cc, 4-cylinder petrol motor is good for 90 PS at 6000 rpm and 110 Nm at 4800 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Diesel motor on the WR-V is 1498 cc, 4-cylinder unit producing 100 PS at 3600 rpm and 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The company claimed mileage figures are 17.5 kmpl and 25.5 kmpl for petrol and diesel respectively.
