Honda CBR250R Production is on, BS4 Version Coming Soon

Honda CBR250R won hearts with its reliable built and powerful performance in India. Things went great for first few years but same design kept on cutting sales from the Honda side, diverting buyers into other brands like Royal Enfield and KTM. Before they had an actual realization for this loss, the market was dominated by products from Bajaj and Mahindra, further pulling buyers away from the Japanese giant. Unfortunately, the CBR250R could not survive the BS4 wave and hence, went away from the Indian website. The same CBR250R registered 226 units in present financial year, producing 128 units in April and 98 units in May 2017. All of these were export units and could not be confirmed for being BS3 or BS4 compliant. As per the latest details available, the BS4 version of CBR250R & CBR150R will launch in India by December this year. This means the Honda is still manufacturing the old version of CBR250R in India and will continue with the same design for India. Honda will launch new shades/graphics on the same single headlight design pus the bike will get updated BS4 250cc engine. One report even claims that Honda has not yet patented the twin headlight design in India and would bring back the same design due to least amount of buyers of this segment. CBR250R is known for being the most reliable machine when considering touring as your primary option. It is powered by a 249.6 cc, single cylinder engine producing 26.15 BHP at 8500 rpm and 22.9 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims a top speed of 145 kmph. It was last sold for INR 1,60,975 and even carried a much expensive dual channel ABS version for INR 1,89,982. Honda currently retails CBR300R and CBR250RR internationally, keeping CBR250R limited to certain markets only.
