Hero Karizma proved itself on many parameters in the past and recent times saw its modified examples proving their worth in the world of custom motorcycles. One such was seen from Ballard Customs and this one brings the cafe racer tag to its personality. The Mumbai based modifier made this product as a hobby and then felt its potential of being an amazing machine for the custom bike lovers. The profile of a cafe racer was very neatly implemented on the Karizma.
The front gets a custom round headlight while its suspension and alloy wheels stay same as the stock version. The sporty fuel tank gets replaced with a custom Continental GT style fuel tank. Then comes a flat seat and its even smaller backrest, integrated inside the typical cafe racer rear end cowl. The indicators are integrated into the front suspension section while the motorcycle also gets bar end mirrors. Apart from these, the center section looks pretty empty due to the missing mudguard.
Hero Karizma R was discontinued in India last year. It was powered by a 223cc, single cylinder air cooled engine that is good for 19.2 BHP at 7500 rpm and 19.35 Nm at 6000 rpm. It was equipped with a 5-speed gearbox and claims a custom exhaust on this modified cafe racer version. Hero even offers a fuel injected version named
ZMR for the same motorcycle and it is on-sale in India for INR 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom). For those who loved the engine of Hero Karizma and wished for a different body type, nothing can be better than this one made by Ballard Customs.
